Massey Ferguson adds film binding to round baler range

A host of updates have been announced for the Massey Ferguson round baler range.

RB machines sold in 2024 with the Xtra and Protec specification package will now benefit from a quicker tailgate system, said to increase output by 6%.

Variable chamber Protec machines can now also be specified with film binding, following on from its introduction on the fixed chamber models last year.

Machines fitted with film binding are also equipped with Rapid Reload system as standard, enabling three rolls to be positioned on a rotating frame near the binding area. As each roll is finished, the operator can rotate the frame from the side of the machine to insert the next.

Contractors using the machine can also carry two film rolls and a roll of netwrap, enabling them to quickly adapt their work to the customer’s requirements.

For net systems, the Easy Load System remains available, while Comfort Load and the new Eco Load systems are available for film binding. Comfort Load uses a sliding tray to lift rolls and present them to the Rapid Reload system, while Eco Load allows operators to manually lift rolls up to the system.

Other options for 2024 include the automatic tailgate function, integrated bale weighing and the HayBoss moisture meter, all of which can be specified individually. Manual or hydraulic folding pick-up wheels are also available, making it easier to switch between road and field modes.

In the cab, the Bale Control Pro replaces the E-Link Pro, running through the Fieldstar 5 terminal to offer a resolution display, increased functionality and familiarity.
