Vicon has introduced the VariBale variable chamber round baler, said to provide a new standard in bale quality and density.
Two models are available, with the 160 producing bales up to 1.65m and the 190 up to 1.85m, each offered with a choice of three intakes: the EasyFeed, the PowerFeed plain rotor unit, or the ChopFeed with 15 individually protected knives.
The pickup has a working width of 2.3m, with a 520mm rotor. An uprated hydraulic system is said to provide significantly higher densities than previous generations, while the short binding, thanks to the PowerBind system, and tailgate system, enables output to be increased. To minimise maintenance, the gearbox has been fully integrated with external, greaseable bearings, fed from a straight driveline.
It’s also capable of working with the latest Isobus technology, including Tractor Implement Management (TIM) Pack 2.0, which adds Auto Feed Control to hydraulically pivot the drawbar and control the valves to keep the intake in line with the swath, even around corners or around obstacles.
Auto Blockage Control is also available, said to react faster than an operator in the case of a blockage, stopping the tractor and pto, and automating part of the unblocking process.
