Solar-powered bird scarer added to the Portek range

Portek Ltd has introduced a solar-powered bird-scarer designed to mimic a life-sized owl, with natural movements to deter birds and other wildlife from crops.

It has natural feather colouring and patterns, illuminated and reflective eyes, an audible hooting sound and a motor-driven rotating head activated by motion sensors.

As well as being solar powered, it also features USB charging and can be secured to a wall, a fence post or ballasted and stood on a flat surface.

“Since the company was formed in 1987, Portek has always sought to develop and introduce products that fill a need, whether that be in farming, groundcare, forestry or gardening,” says Morgan David, sales director at Portek.

“Our bird scaring range is a prime example of this commitment, and with the introduction of the solar-powered owl, we are offering a new, highly effective, portable and value-for-money product that can be used in a wide range of settings to keep birds away.”
