To support the development of the business, Scotts Precision Manufacturing is investing in the construction of a bespoke 600sq m logistics and assembly plant.
Due to be completed in summer 2026, the facility will include a dedicated parts reception and expanded stores, representing the company’s growing product portfolio.
While pre-cleaning and de-soiling equipment remains the core of the business, Scotts now offers machinery to handle orchard fruit, peppers and other crops, which the company hopes will open opportunities in new sectors and countries.
The new layout will also improve the flow of materials across the site, improving yard access and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. According to the company, the improved stock management, streamlined assembly processes and better organisation of space will help reduce lead times.
Commenting on the investment, Derek Scott, managing director, said:
“As a family business, we always invest with the long term in mind. This new facility will allow us to expand our capabilities, improve efficiency and support a wider range of customers. Lack of space has always been a thorn in our side.
“Despite our best efforts to be as efficient and tidy as possible, the 600sq m will be a game changer for our business, and allows us to grow unrestricted for many years to come.”
