Opico will be demonstrating a Simtech TJG 300 drill at this year’s ScotGrass – the first working event since the brand takeover in 2025.
The TJG 300 is a 3m pneumatic drill which utilises the chassis of the TSG 300. It is equipped with 20 sprung-loaded discs and 25mm tines, spaced at 150mm centres. According to the company, it is ideal for both grassland reseeding and direct drilling on arable ground with minimum residues.
It features the proven T-slot coulter, which runs behind a row of opening discs. This creates a 40mm wide opening in which to place the seed. For grassland, this means that existing roots are pruned to enable germination of the new seed.
On new leys or in arable conditions, the T-slot produces a free-draining, weather-proof environment.
Seed is metered from a Stocks Ag Turbo Jet, 400- or 1,000-litre capacities, with twin digital brushless 12v electric fans for seed rates up to 320kg/ha. The applicator can also be specified with a hydraulic fan as required.
Control is via a 4.3 i-CON touchscreen display, with automatic forward-speed related rate, or variable rate application based on mapping. Isobus control is also available as an option.
The Opico working plot is on stand 101, near the clamp demonstration area.
