Alamo Group, the parent company of McConnel, Bomford Turner, Spearhead and many other manufacturers, has announced that it will close the Giessen production facility.
It follows a strategic review of the business and its long-term viability, a statement from the company reads.
Giessen, home to the Conver brand of waterway management equipment, has reportedly faced sustained market challenges. After evaluating the alternatives, the company has chosen to shut the site.
This will affect 18 employees, who will be taken through a ‘respectful and transparent’ consultation process in accordance with Dutch law.

“While this action is necessary to strengthen the long-term focus and competitiveness of our wider Dutch operations, our priority remains supporting our employees, customers, and business partners throughout the transition.”
The closure of the site is expected to conclude in 2026.
