Just 395 tractors were registered in August, dropping to more than 40% below the seasonal average and, for the first time this year, dropping below the same month in 2025.
According to the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), the number was 1.7% below the figure recorded in August 2025. While registrations have remained below the seasonal average in 2026, it has typically being around 5% lower.
However, the total number for the year so far remains above the same period last year. From January to August, 7,284 units have been registered, 18.4% above 2025. The AEA speculates that the annual figure is on track to return to the 10,000-12,000 range typical of the last decade.
