After a dip in August, UK tractor registrations returned to year-on-year growth in September according to the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).
1,033 machines were registered during the month, an increase of 10.8% compared to the same month in 2025. The AEA notes that this was slightly below the five-year average for the time of year.
It also notes that the rate of growth has slowed slightly. The third quarter saw year-on-year growth of 7%, compared to 22% in the first half of the year. Despite this, registrations have already surpassed 95% of the total number in 2025, with 8,317 machines registered so far this year (17.4% higher than the same period in 2025).
The number of tractors registered in a single 12-month period has also exceeded 10,000 machines for the first time since February 2025. This remains historically low, with the AEA concluding that the market recovery remains slow and customer confidence remains low.
