Tafe has entered the cab-version of its 6065 tractor, powered by a 65hp Yanmar engine with a turbocharger and water cooling. Torque levels are 208Nm, available at 1,700Nm.
The gearbox is a four-range, four-speed mechanical system with synchromesh, capable of reaching 30kph.
An open-centre hydraulics system produces 45 litres/min, with a separate 19-litre system handling steering. Three mechanical valves are fitted at the rear, and the linkage can handle up to 1,700kg.
It is just 3,000mm long, and 1,500mm wide, enabling it to work in nearly any type of row crop. Perhaps more unique in this sector, however, is the option of the company’s Vista system, which uses camera feeds to monitor crop rows and guide the tractor without the need for pre-mapping or satellite signal.
Developed at the company’s UK Innovation Centre, with input from its research and development team in India, the system uses artificial intelligence to monitor the images and manage the tractor path, regardless of whether the rows are curved or straight.
It can be stepped up again to assess overall crop health for real-time variable rate spraying, reportedly cutting chemical usage by up to 24% while facilitating speeds of up to 8kph.
