New precast concrete solution for today’s dairy industry

Wolfenden Concrete announce the launch of their new SUPA range of precast solutions, designed to deliver huge productivity and efficiency benefits, whilst prioritising animal welfare to give happier, healthier cows.

The SUPA range, designed specifically for the dairy industry, includes SupaStrong diagonal slats, SupaDeep slurry channelling and SupaWide slurry channels, each of which offers significant benefits to today’s dairy farmers.

Structurally engineered with Wolfenden’s unique Fortis reinforcement system, SupaStrong slats allow slurry to pass through rapidly and more efficiently, while comparisons show the SupaStrong diagonal slats to be 100% stronger than competitors’ offerings.  A massive, class-leading 12 tonne axle load enables the slats to support just about any type of farm vehicle or machinery – helping to improve farm efficiency and productivity.

With 50% extra capacity, SupaDeep slurry channelling provides superior slurry collection, meaning cleaner floors and more comfortable cattle housing, while beveled corners offer extra strength and hygiene and a smooth internal surface improves flow rate.  Compared to the more traditional methods of slurry channel construction, whether arduously building block walls or using prestressed panels and expensive steel columns with in situ concrete bases, the SupaWide solution cuts out most of this work and can save as much as 75% of labour time.

Richard Moody, managing director of Wolfenden Concrete comments: “Our new SUPA products are the first range that we have purpose-designed for the dairy industry, and we are confident in the huge benefits they offer for our customers.  Our performance data demonstrates the efficiency and productivity critical to dairy farmers in the current climate.  We know the concern and care that farmers have for their livestock, and so we put animal welfare at the heart of the development of the range, from the outset. The new SUPA range is the result of this thinking: a solution that offers greater efficiency, increased productivity, and healthier and happier cows.”
