JCB adds new compact Loadall model to the range

JCB has announced the 514-40, the smallest model in the Loadall telehandler range, with a 1.8m height and a width of 1.56m. Despite the size, the machine has the largest cab in its class, sharing DNA with the larger models in the series.

It’s powered by a 24.7hp diesel engine, offering 66.9Nm of torque and driving through a Bosch hydrostatic transmission to a two-speed Linde motor for a top speed of 15kph. As standard, there is permanent four-wheel drive, as well as four-wheel steering.

Maximum lift capacity is 1,400kg or 525kg at the full lift height of 4m. Notably, it has an unladen weight of 2,695kg, meaning it can be transported on a 3.5-tonne trailer behind a 4×4. It also boasts a power-to-weight ratio that is 17% higher than the 516-40.

The full-width cabin is said to be 20% larger than the previous 516-40, as well as 200mm wider than competitive machines. It also features JCB’s familial control system.

Standard features include a 50mm tow ball with seven-pin electrics, reversing alarm, road lights, the company’s Load Control system and LiveLink telematics. It also boasts a new lightweight tool carrier, compatible with a range of JCB attachments.
