Strautmann introduces the Magnon 8 to the UK

Strautmann has extended the range of forage wagons available in the UK, introducing the smaller Magnon 8 to complement the Magnon 10 series introduced in 2019.

The Magnon 8 is available in three models and offers capacities from 35m3 up to 44m3 and features a new hydraulically moving front wall, as well as Flex-Load and Exact Cut as standard.

The front moving wall can provide up to 4.5m3 of capacity, positioned in a vertical position at the rear wall when filling begins and then moving forward to increase capacity gradually. During discharge, the wall hydraulically moves towards the back of the machine to aid unloading.

All Strautmann machines feature the Continuous Flow System (CFS) pick-up unit. On Magnon 8 machines, this is 2.25m wide and ensures that a wide swath can be collected. The system can adapt to ground contours and ensures that the rotor system is kept at maximum capacity for even loading.

A redesigned crop roller has been added to optimise crop flow into the Flex-Load pick-up, while the Exact-Cut system features 44 knives and a theoretical chopping length of 35mm. These feature a rapid-trigger protection function, which retracts the knife when a foreign object is detected.

A bogie tandem chassis is standard on the 370 and 410 models, with the option of a hydraulic tandem axle. The uprated unit is standard on the flagship 450, which can be further upgraded to tridem running gear with electronic active steering.

Control is via Strautmann’s own ISOBUS system, with easy menu navigation and automatic functionality. A 5.7-inch terminal can be optioned if the tractor does not have its own ISOBUS system.
