New dual hopper front tank introduced by Kuhn

Kuhn Farm Machinery has introduced a new front tank, with a dual hopper for both seed and fertiliser.

The pressurised TF 2300C has a 2,360-litre tank, split 60/40. According to Edd Fanshawe, arable and connected services product specialist, the product has been introduced to meet changing farming practices and the need to complete work within shorter weather windows.

“Our TF range can be used with a wide variety of implements from dedicated drills to cultivators with seeding kits. Growers require versatility to adapt to changing conditions and front tanks allow this while retaining output capacity.”

It features the company’s Optiseed metering unit, with interchangeable cassettes, providing application rates of up to 500kg/ha at a maximum forward speed of 15kph.  Each of the hoppers is individually dosed, with the possibility of mixing product into a single delivery tube or distributing them separately.

Agitators are fitted as standard to keep fertiliser flowing and the company states that calibration is simple, with external controls.

At purchase, customers can choose a carrying frame or an optional front packer with four 822mm diameter tyres. The front tank is controlled via an Isobus connection, with the VTI 60, CCI 800 or CCI 1200 terminals available if the tractor does not have a compatible terminal.

It also features automatic switching at the start and end of runs, variable rate application and data transfer via agrirouter.

Edd concludes: “Applying seed and fertiliser in one pass not only reduces passes but places nutrition in the right place to provide the crop with its best start. This new TF 2300C offers users greater possibilities and flexibility to achieve establishment in the best conditions.”

It will be available to order next spring, with deliveries expected in the summer. For more information go to www.kuhn.co.uk
