Powered by an FPT engine offering 98hp and boosting to 103hp, the Axos 240 is said to be a true utility tractor, with a high level of versatility. It has a low unladen weight of 4,080kg, with a maximum gross weight of 6,000kg, and a low centre of gravity for stability on hillsides.
It’s fitted with a 30×15 transmission, with the TwinShift powershift system and ReverShift clutchless power shuttle, as well as Smart Stop clutchless braking. A top speed of 40kph can be achieved at just 1,800rpm, with the maximum torque of 406Nm available at 1,500rpm.
At the rear, the linkage has a capacity of 3,350kg and there is the option of a 3,200kg front linkage which is fully integrated. For greater versatility, Claas also offers the Axos with a front loader, with a choice of ElectroPilot or E-Pilot S controls. Open centre hydraulics offer 60 litres per minute as standard, with the option of an 87-litre system.
