    In the heart of Mumbai, India, the 2024 Tractor of the Year competition officially started. 25 jury members, representing 25 European countries travelled to the Trident Hotel with manufacturers and the competition sponsor BKT for two intense days of technical evaluations.

    As in previous years, the competition is split into three categories:

    • Tractor of the Year, for open-field tractors without any limitations;
    • Best Utility, for multipurpose and utility tractors with 4-cylinder engines, power ranging from 70 to 150 horsepower, and a maximum unladen weight of 10,500 kilograms;
    • Best of Specialized, for orchard, vineyard, mountain, and hill tractors. In addition to these categories, there is the highly

    There is also the Sustainable TOTY award, which recognises advanced machines in terms of sustainability. Tractors from across all three categories will be considered for this award.

    The jury will now undertake field tests of each of the machines entered, with the winners being announced at Agritechnica.

    As reiterated in previous editions, Tractor of the Year, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is an entirely independent journalistic award. Registration is free, and the only requirement for companies is to present machines that meet the criteria and are available for sale by the end of 2024.
