At Agritechnica, New Holland will exhibit the latest addition to its alternative fuel range. The T7.270 Methane Power compressed natural gas (CNG) tractor will initially be available in the Blue Power livery, with orders open from the end of this year for delivery in spring 2026.
“The T7.270 Methane Power is ideal for biodigester operators running haulage tractor fleets,” says Darragh Mullin, New Holland T7 Long Wheelbase global product manager.
“It also meets the demands of larger-scale arable farms and contractors conducting year-round, varied applications with heavy-duty implements. The combination of methane power technology with proven New Holland T7 features is designed to offer customers a blend of low operating costs, autonomy, reliability and driver comfort.”
The tractor is powered by a NEF 6.7-litre, six-cylinder engine, with a new turbo, updated engine mapping and a specific after-treatment system. Max power is 270hp while torque levels top out at 1,160Nm. Service intervals are the same as with the diesel range, at 750hrs.
Power is put to the ground through the continuously variable AutoCommand transmission.
The on-board gas storage system can hold up to 657 litres, an increase over the T6 model due to the longer chassis. With the optional front-mounted range extender, the fuel capacity increases to 1,106 litres. According to the company, this can provide up to 11hrs of work.
The Horizon Ultra cabin is fitted to the T7 Methane Power, with an in-cab noise level of just 66dB. It also features the IntelliView 12 monitor and SideWinder armrest, with a full range of precision farming systems.
