Simon Gillett has been appointed by Timac Agro UK to lead its south central team. Based in Salisbury, he joins the business with extensive experience in fertiliser manufacturing, as well as developing distributor relations.

He said: “Joining Timac Agro UK has allowed me to take the next step in my career and pursue my passion for driving sustainability in the crop nutrition sector.

“With a scientific background, seeing the direction the company is going in developing innovative crop nutrition and soil health solutions that fit into the ‘regenerative’ landscape, is incredibly motivating.

“Its investment into research and development on a global scale drew me to the role and I look forward to using this as a resource to deliver data-driven results on-farm.”

Simon added: “It’s been a challenging winter for farmers, with crops under water for weeks on end. It’ll be critical these next few months to get land and revenue back on track and I strongly believe there’s still hope with the correct nutrient management plan in place.”

James Hay, country manager at Timac Agro UK, explained that the south central team is now stronger than ever. “Simon brings a wealth of agronomic expertise and fertiliser market experience to the role, and we’re delighted to have him on board,” he explains.
