Automatic Dipping and Flushing in Action for the First Time at LAMMA

Dairy farmers visiting LAMMA 2017 are being given a great opportunity to find out about the multi award-winning ADF Automatic Dipping and Flushing System. This is the first year ADF Milking Limited have exhibited at LAMMA and dairy farmers are invited see close up the Automatic Dipping and Flushing System in action.

The ADF system is installed in thousands of farms across the world, with more than 30,000 milking points fitted globally. The system has been a proven success around the world since 2004 helping dairy farmers to improve herd health, reduce labour, save money, speed up milking, and improve cow throughput.

The ADF system applies dip to cow’s teats immediately after milking. Consistent teat coverage prevents residue and bacteria from being drawn up the teat canal, which is a major cause of mastitis. The cluster is removed and the ADF system thoroughly sanitises each teat cup with six cycles of sanitised water and compressed air, ensuring every cow is milked with a clean and sanitised liner controlling cross contamination of mastitis.

Independent studies have demonstrated that use of the ADF system can generate significant savings in labour costs with increased parlour throughput and less time spent on repetitive, manual tasks. Even more impressive benefits can be seen from the dipping and flushing processes leading to fewer cases of mastitis and lower somatic cell counts.

Graham Windsor of Lodge Farm, Shropshire: “We installed the ADF system back in 2014. Cow health has improved, our cell counts have reduced and we are using less antibiotics. Our time is more productive, we can spend the extra time prepping cows rather than just dipping at the end of milking. Less waste milk and more milk going in the tank.”

The ADF system boasts many highly acclaimed awards, such as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise Innovation 2013, the Prince Philip Award 2005, RABDF Livestock Machinery & Equipment Award 2010, Australian Dairy Conference Innovators Award 2011, New Zealand National Fieldays Equipment of the year 2011 and the Cream Award for Innovation 2013.

More information can be found on ADF Milking’s website: www.adfmilking.com. If you are visiting LAMMA, stop by at stand 801 in Hall 8 where ADF Milking will be providing demonstrations of the system in action.
