Grimme UK to make tenth appearance at Driffield Show

    Driffield Show 2019

Driffield Show is just one week away, taking place at the Driffield Showground on 21st and 22nd July and visitors will be amongst the first to see the latest innovations from Grimme UK.

It will be the first show for the company in over a year and the tenth time it has attended the Driffield Show. On the stand, it will showcase a new version of HarvestEye, developed in conjunction with B-Hive Innovations, which uses a 3D camera and machine learning to count, size and analyse variations in potato crops during harvesting.

The updates include a new camera system, said to provide even greater accuracy and new hardware and wiring which can be easily retrofitted to harvesters to allow growers to see how crop performance varies in their fields.

“HarvestEye allows users to improve crop performance and field returns,” said Ed Hodson, potato product specialist at GRIMME UK. “The technology is straightforward to install and helps users plan their business more effectively, eliminate waste in the supply chain and optimise crop returns. We are really looking forward to welcoming people to our stand and showing them the recent enhancements that HarvestEye has added to the platform.”

As well as HarvestEye, Grimme will exhibit other products from its portfolio, including the Varitron 220, the GB230 belt potato planter, the GH2 two-row ridging hiller, a range of irrigation machinery and a new Stanhay X Series drill.

Due to disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it will also be the first time that Grimme exhibits alongside the Haith Group following the two companies entering a strategic partnership in April 2020. The Grimme stand will also feature several Haith innovations.

“We made our first appearance at the Driffield Show in 2010, and because last year’s show was cancelled, this will be the tenth time that we have exhibited. We know that this year’s show will be different to previous ones, but we are incredibly excited about getting back to meeting people face to face, talking to them about their farms and showing them the latest additions to our range,” adds=ed Tom Goose, Grimme UK sales manager.

Tickets for the Driffield Show can be ordered online here.
