Krone has replaced its MX320 forage wagon with three new models in the range bringing the total number to five. Still based around the original chassis, the new MX 330, MX 370 and MX 400 models will include EasyFlow – W camless pick-up, PowerLoad automatic filling, and a sloped floor at the front of the machine.
The MX range of forage wagons has been designed with operator comfort in mind. Automatic filling using PowerLoad for example takes a lot of pressure of the driver. Its sprung loaded passively steered axle also provides a higher level of comfort and stability.
An optional hydraulic compensating axle helps distribute the weight evenly across all four wheels, which makes the rider smoother and safer. A K80 ball coupler ensures the safest attachment to the tractor.
EasyFlow – W camless pick-up is 1800mm working width and comprises five rows of staggered tines, which ensures the crop is more uniform and evenly distributed across the full working width of the cutting rotor. The camless action also produces a cleaner sweep, ensuring more of the valuable forage is collected.
The camless pick-up arrangement can rotate 30% quicker than cam pick-ups and contains around 66% fewer moving parts, resulting in less maintenance. Optional rear guide wheels allow the pickup to accurately contour the ground, especially on uneven ground.
A large diameter (880mm) cutting rotor features eight rows of Hardox faced tines, arranged in a helical pattern to evenly feed the crop through the knife bank, which comprises of 41 knives that produce a 37mm theoretical chop length.
The knife bank swings out to the side for easy maintenance and each knife is individually sprung protected to help minimise against damage from foreign objects. Next year should also see the introduction of the SpeedSharp knife sharpening feature.
The sloped floor at the front of the machine ensures gentle handling of the crop during loading, and utilises more of the load area by keeping the load in a more vertical position.
The MX 370 and 400 models are fitted with a pivoting front wall, which moves forward during loading to increase the load volume by 4m3 whilst discharging backwards to speed up discharge.
The PowerLoad function ensures automatic filling of the wagon and prevents over filling. Two adjustable sensors monitor the load density and level. When activated the chain and slat floor gradually moves the load backwards, ensuring a uniform load density.
All drivelines are protected by cam clutches and the Krone Delta or CCI 1200 control box is easy to operate.
