Lemken opens new Competence Centre for Crop Care

Starting construction in February 2023, Lemken has now opened its Competence Centre for Crop Care, based in Dinteloord, the Netherlands.

The factory, which was already producing machines as early as October 2023, enabled the company to fully integrate the portfolio of Steketee mechanical weeding tools into its product range.

The Centre has now been completed, with offices, cafeteria and facades, with the investment totalling €30 million.

The Competence Centre will be part of a network of Lemken sites, with a technical auditorium that will be used for events and training courses.

Of the 49,000sq m site, 11,800sq m currently has buildings on it, with production and storage extending to 9,000sq m and the AgroForum showroom reaching 800sq m.

Solar panels are fitted to the building, producing up to 300kWp, with green roofs on other buildings to cool the offices. Other aspects of the site, including furniture and the wooden beams used in the construction, were chosen for their recyclability.

“The new Lemken factory in Dinteloord stands for innovation, efficiency and sustainability in the agricultural machinery industry and will play a central role in meeting our customers’ future requirements. We are therefore very excited about its opening,” says partner Nicola Lemken.
