With just 300 units registered, figures for February were 37.1% lower than the same month last year, and just over half of the seasonal average, according to the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).
It is the lowest figure recorded for any month since December 1999, and means that the 2025 total is currently just 762 machines, 20% lower than the same period for the opening two months.
However, the AEA highlights that this is a typically quiet time of the year for tractor registrations, so is reluctant to comment on potential trends until after March, which is normally the year’s peak month.
