Fendt highlighted a brand-new concept on its stand. Updating its Xaver robotics project, which has been in development for several years, the fully autonomous Xaver 104 GT is a toolbar, capable of carrying two implements. Shown on the stand here with two different weeders.
It’s a hybrid machine with a diesel engine powering an electric generator, which feeds into independent wheel motors for the four steered wheels. According to the company, it can run for up to 24 hours at speeds of 10kph. The linkages have a lift capacity of 2t each, with two hydraulic valves and a 48v outlet. The track width can be adjusted from 1.5m up to 2.25m, and there is an integrated sideshift system.
It uses the FendtONE system for remote monitoring and task sharing, with RowPilot and Fendt Guidance, and can work autonomously within a fleet of machines in the same field. For safety purposes, it is also fitted with 360deg monitoring.
