Kuhn Farm Machinery has expanded its UK technical support team with the appointment of three new technical product support engineers, two of whom are area based and one based at the company’s UK headquarters in Telford.  The appointments follow a busy period of recruitment during which Kuhn UK has expanded its sales, marketing and technical support teams by a total of 10 people.

Miles Metcalfe and Thomas Sloan join Kuhn UK as Technical Product Support Engineers.  They will both be responsible for working directly with Kuhn’s UK dealer network to provide technical support across all Kuhn product ranges as well as handling technical enquiries, modification programmes, warranty claims and customer training.

Miles Metcalfe has a strong background in agricultural engineering having graduated in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Harper Adams University.  During his time at Harper Adams he spent 12 months working as a Prototype Design and Test Engineer for Claas in Germany.  He has also worked on a range of non-agricultural engineering and design projects and has an extensive experience of working in arable and mixed farms as a harvest worker, workshop technician and machinery operator.

Thomas Sloan joins Kuhn UK having spent two years working in Australia where he worked for 12 months at the Claas Harvest Centre at Katanning, Western Australia, as a field service engineer before moving on to work as a farm technician and machinery operator for Knud Nymann on a 14,000 hectare cropping farm.  Prior to his time in Australia, Thomas spent five years working for James Gordon Engineers as an agricultural technician in south west Scotland, before which he studied land based engineering at Barony Agricultural College.

Edward Worts joins Kuhn UK as the company’s technical product support engineer.  Edward, an Agricultural Engineering graduate from Harper Adams, has held a similar role at Kuhn Saverne, France, where he was responsible for organising and carrying out the technical training of Kuhn importers. Edward has particular expertise in Kuhn’s range of hay and silage making machinery, as well as Kuhn’s fertiliser spreaders and minimum tillage and combination seed drills. In addition to a training role in which he will work closely with UK dealers, he will also be responsible for working alongside Kuhn’s aftersales team to provide product support.
