New Holland restyles T5 Dual Command

New Holland has introduced a new generation of the T5 Dual Command range. Five models are available, ranging from 80hp up to 117hp, all fitted with FPT F36 four-cylinder engines.

At the front, a choice of axles is available. The standard is said to provide a 20% increase in steering capacity under load, enabling faster turning. A new HD setup increases the permissible gross vehicle weight to 7,000kg, and the SuperSteer option provides a 76deg steering angle to improve manoeuvrability in farmyards and small fields.

New rear tyre options have also been added to the specification.

Staying at the rear of the machine, the rear lift capacity has been increased to 4,700kg – a boost of 7% compared to the previous generation. The hydraulic pump has also been uprated to 82 litres/min, an increase of 30%.

    Power to the ground

The longstanding Dual Command powershift transmission is fitted to the new models, offering 24 gears in forward and reverse, split into four speeds, three ranges and a two-stage powershift. An electronic shuttle is standard equipment.

New features include an automatic differential lock and automatic four-wheel drive engagement. There is also the option of a new front, wet disc PTO, which is said to be quieter and maintenance-free.

The styling has been updated, with new front and side grilles and decals in line with other updated New Holland ranges. A U-shaped exhaust helps with forward visibility and the machine has been fitted with upgraded work lights and headlights, with the option of a full LED package.

Operator comfort is ensured by the mechanical Comfort Ride cab suspension, and in the cabin a new digital instrument cluster has been integrated. To increase the versatility of the T% models, telematics and a full suite of precision farming technology are available.

Rounding out the range is the availability of specially designed front loaders, with both self-levelling and non-levelling versions. A new joystick is fitted in the cab when a loader is fitted, with shuttle controls, and to further improve performance during loader operations, the T5 Dual Command tractors feature Dynamic StartStop for clutchless braking and the CustomSteer adjustable steering system.
