On the 3rd of June, the UK Agri-Tech Centre will run a farm walk and farm innovation workshop in collaboration with the Hayward family at Cold Harbour Farm in Bishop Burton, Beverley, East Yorkshire.

The tour will be led by the Haywood family, including demonstrations of the latest innovations in the sector. There will also be various talks, demonstrations and interactive workshops.

Visitors will learn about a number of different technologies, as well as data connectivity, the impact of innovations on-farm and the barriers to adoption.

Speakers on the day will include:

    • Craig Patrickm Senior Knowledge Exchange Manager at AHDB
    • Paul Lindop, Business Development Manager at Ver Facil – on-farm data connectivity
    • Clive Blacker, Agrivation – Exatrek Data Loggers
    • Oliver Taylor, Taylored Agri – Yara N-Sensors and Crop Scan
    • Katherine Wotherspoon, Innovation Lead in Strategic Impact at the UK Agri-Tech Centre – impact of innovation adoption on farm

The workshop will be led by Sarah Nightingale, knowledge exchange manager at the UK Agri-Tech Centre, where visitors can identify and highlight gaps in the development and adoption of on-farm innovation.

Adam Hayward, who owns Cold Harbour Farm in partnership with his family, said: “I think the benefit that new technology can bring is vast and the support that is available reduces the risk and cost of giving something different or untested a go on your own conditions with hopefully having a positive outcome.”
