Horsch concluded its product updates at its Agritechnica event with its precision planting range, starting the Maestro 12 TX 12-row machine, complementing the existing six- and seven-row units.
It features a hydraulic telescoping frame, enabling spacings to be adjusted in 5cm increments between 45cm and 75cm, as well as the automatic coulter pressure system AutoForce, which can apply between 50kg and 350kg of downwards force to suit differing conditions.
This can be upgraded to AutoForce Pro, which extends the range to 50-350kg.
A new 4,200-litre fertiliser hopper is fitted, using in-house metering units, as well as 20-litre microgranule hoppers on each row. Adaptive Seeding is available, while the AirSpeed overpressure system enables speeds of up to 15kph.
Over on the Avatar product range and the 12 LC model offers 25cm row spacing and comes with a completely new hopper design. It has a total capacity of 9,400 litres, split 50:15:35 for up to three products to be applied in one pass. An optional MiniDrill is also available to increase versatility further.
Trash wheels can be specified to handle large quantities of organic matter, and the company plans to introduce AutoForce ground pressure control and the RowControl distribution tower in the future. The LC range, as well as the Avatar SD, will also be available with a new NarrowDisc (ND) single disc coulter from Agritechnica, enabling a 20cm row spacing.
