Front mowers and CTF-ready butterfly units from Krone

The fourth generation of EasyCut F front mowers was revealed at Krone’s pre-Agritechnica event, alongside new 12.5m butterfly mowers.

To suit different terrains and conditions, The 3.16m EasyCut F is offered with a push-style headstock, with oscillating lower links and an optional telescopic top link; a pull-type unit with hydraulic relief and kinematics to push the mower back and up in the case of an obstacle; or the exclusive Plus variant which features an A-frame for increased traverse oscillation, with a single-acting pendulum stop cylinder for stability on the headland and on the road.

It uses the proven EasyCut cutterbar, which is fully welded and permanently lubricated, with five cutting discs and two mower drums. As an option, it can also be fitted with a 450mm merging auger, which pushes the crop between the tractor tracks to ensure forage is not run over. The EasyCut F is only available without a conditioner, keeping the overall weight down.

    Controlled traffic mowing

For those concerned with compaction on their grassland fields, Krone has introduced the EasyCut B 1250 Fold butterfly unit, offering an adjustable working width up to 12.5m for those implementing controlled traffic farming systems.

The sliding gearbox allows for the width to be adjusted from 11.3m up to the maximum, with each side sideshifting up to 60cm, fully controlled from the cabin. This means the unit can be combined with front mowers up to 4m wide.

EasyCut cutterbars are used throughout, with eight discs and two mower drums. As there is no conditioning unit, the EasyCut B 1250 Fold weighs just 3,500kg and can be used with tractors from 200hp.

When folded, it has a transport height of less than 4m, thanks to a hydraulic slewing gear which allows the outer discs to fold to the rear.
