Following the introduction of the updated auto-reset ploughs in 2019, Kverneland has now launched a new range of shearbolt ploughs.
Four models are available, with the 2300 B and 3300 B Variomat over either three to five or four to six furrows and suitable for in-furrow operation, while the 3400 B Variomat and 3500 B i-Plough can work both in the furrow and on-land and can be extended to up to seven furrows.
New shearbolt legs have been fitted, rated to handle up to 5,000kg of pressure, with the company stating that it is not possible to stretch the bolt, which could lead to leg deformation. Brought over from the auto-reset models, the 4P skimmers now feature central adjustment of the angle and position. Customers have the choice of rear or frame-mounted wheels, with either mechanical or hydraulic adjustment, with the latter providing instant callback of settings.
On all models barring the 2300 B, the company’s Trailer Transport Solution (TTS) is integrated, which rotates the plough to rest on the wheel and pivots the headstock so that the machine follows like a trailer on the road.
Thanks to the design of the Variomat range, Kverneland states that there is no need to adjust the pulling line, thanks to the Auto-line design, which prevents lateral forces on the plough and minimises fuel consumption. Alongside this, the front furrow can be adjusted independently.
With the flagship 3500 B i-Plough, it is also possible to connect to various Isobus functions, including setting and adjusting the plough from the cab, FurrowControl, which uses A-B lines to ensure the furrows remain straight, and Kverneland Sync for wireless data transfer.
