New Holland re-enters high-horsepower market with T7 XD

Replacing the company’s T8 range in western Europe and the UK, New Holland introduced the T7 XD range, which runs from 360-435hp. Global product manager Richard Hollins explained that the launch saw New Holland re-entering the high-horsepower market.

Each machine is powered by an FPT Cursor 9 structural engine, the design of which minimises vibration and eliminates the need for support rails, providing a narrow waist that improves visibility and the turning circle.

For more time in the field, a 680 litre fuel tank is standard, 17% larger than the T7 HD range, and the service interval has been increased to 750hrs. Peak torque is available at 1,400rpm, and when idling, the machine will automatically drop the engine speed to 650rpm to cut fuel use.

Power is put to the ground through the Auto Command 4×2 continuously variable gearbox, offering a top speed of 60kph. To operate safely at these speeds, oil-cooled inboard front brakes are standard, as well as a multi-stage engine braking system, which also minimises wear throughout the machine. The company’s Intelligent Trailer Braking System is also standard, to minimise the risk of jack-knifing.

The Terraglide independent front axle suspension is standard, and the machine has impressive dimensions, with a wheelbase of 3,190mm, a gross vehicle weight of 19,000kg and a new front linkage that lifts 6,100kg. The rear linkage offers 8% more capacity over the T7 HD, at 11,942kg, while the dual hydraulic pump option puts out 360 litres/min for the most powerful implements.

Finally, a fully integrated central tyre inflation system can be specified, capable of increasing tyre pressures by 1bar in just five minutes.
