Distributed in the UK by Simagri, FarmTrx is a Canadian manufacturer developing yield monitoring systems for combine harvesters.
Recent updates include a Pro version which enables live mapping in the cabin, with an on-board 4G modem and Canbus functionality to link to the combine terminal. Precise point positioning enables 10cm horizontal accuracy through the mapping system.
Based on customer demand, the company has also integrated a header height sensor, which again feeds back into the cabin. Through the Canbus link-up this can also be featured on telematics data, while providing live feedback to the operator for quick adjustments as required.
The company’s moisture sensor is a retrofit unit, enabling older combines to monitor grain moisture, but its versatility comes from the fact that it can be mounted on trailer-mounted augers or grain handling systems on farm. This makes it easier for growers to send grain to individual bins based on moisture levels.
