Following its acquisition of Melco Products Ltd earlier this year, Footprint Sheffield Ltd is promising to continue to support and develop the range of specialist agricultural tools.
The range includes tyre levers, heavy-duty axle stands, bead breakers, wheel braces and wheel wrenches.
Production is now based at Footprint’s factory, and the company will offer an extended range of products to serve key markets. According to the the company, the products are particularly suited to farms, contractors and rural workshops.
It also uses the last dedicated hand tool drop forge in the UK, and manufactures a range of products from its factory.
Tim Jewitt, director of Footprint Sheffield Ltd, said: “Farmers and agricultural contractors need tools that are simple, robust and dependable, particularly when working on heavy machinery and tyres.
“Melco has supplied that kind of product for many years. Bringing production into our Sheffield factory gives us the opportunity to support the existing range, improve availability and introduce the brand to more agricultural users who may not realise the breadth of the range.”
The acquisition was completed earlier this year, and included stock, machinery and intellectual property. Production staff also moved over to Footprint, while Melco directors remain involved as consultants. The brand will continue as a standalone under Footprint and distributors and suppliers will be retained.
