Thurlow Nunn Standen (TNS) has invested £500,000 in a new sprayer workshop at its Littleport branch, following increased demand for sprayer sales and aftersales.
The new workshop will open at the end of October and will support the increased number of sprayers sold since the dealer took on the Amazone franchise last December, complementing the range of Fendt Rogator machines.
It measures 40.25m long by 18m wide, with 6m eaves height, and can accommodate up to four sprayers at once, or a single 36m machine with its boom fully extended.
Adam Cuttridge, head of service & ranch operations at TNS, said: “The growth of our sprayer business, particularly since taking on the Amazone franchise, has increased demand for specialist aftersales support. We have invested in this new workshop to give our technicians the facilities and capacity they need to support our customers regardless of weather conditions.
“We can now accommodate some of the largest sprayers on the market, while also providing servicing and repairs across multiple brands.”
The building is fully insulated, with steel composite cladding and underfloor insulation. There are seven insulated doors to the workshop, allowing machines of different sizes to be moved in and out.
It was delivered by the company’s own Specialist Installations Division, which managed the project from planning permission and design, through to tendering and construction. Local contractors were used to complete the build, including J K Construction for the groundworks, MD Anthony for the steelworks and cladding, and Rollins Group for the electrical installation.
The building was also designed to mitigate flood risks, with the finished floor raised above the ground level to meet requirements from local authorities and the Environment Agency.
