Conagri has been appointed the sole UK distributor for the Canadian manufacturer Bron and has already sold the first forestry machine into Scotland.
The Bron 310 is designed to tackle small, moderate and some larger-scale forestry projects, including right-of-way clearance, farmland reclamation and establishing firebreaks.
It is 13t and powered by a 310hp Cummins engine.
The first model was sold to Cross Civils and Construction, a division of the family-owned Cross Group, based in Aberfeldy, Scotland, which plans to use the machine to clear already-harvested forestry plantations in the Highlands.
Conagri director Andrew Venton said: “These machines are something special. Being designed and manufactured in a country renowned for its timber and forestry means they are more than suited to anything the UK throws at them.”
Kevin Cross, director at Cross Civils, added: “We were incredibly impressed by the 310 we tried in Canada and are very excited about receiving it in Aberfeldy. It is one of the largest investments in a single piece of machinery we have made to date but was vital to help us meet the increased operations in forestry work.”
