Norbrook’s ProCPD programme, which provides technical information and advice for Suitably Qualified Persons (SQPs) to improve their animal health knowledge, has celebrated its 1,000thregistrant, following the programme’s launch in January 2015.

ProCPD content is approved by the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority (AMTRA) and consists of a series of educational bulletins written by Norbrook’s team of technical experts.

Leigh Sullivan, Large Animal Product Manager at Norbrook, is pleased with how the programme has been received by SQPs since its launch.

“The ProCPD programme has proven to be very popular amongst SQPs who find the content beneficial for their professional development. Our bulletins cover topics such as liver fluke, ectoparasites, roundworms and equine worming.”

Gemma Wilson, store supervisor at agricultural supplies store Wynnstay in Lancaster became the 1,000thmember to register for the ProCPD programme.

“Norbrook’s ProCPD programme has been invaluable in helping me accumulate CPD points while enhancing and refreshing my technical knowledge of the animal health sector,” said Ms Wilson. “It gives me the confidence to advise customers on the best course of action as I am up-to-date with new developments within the field.”

According to AMTRA, there are around 6,000 SQPs in the UK, employed in veterinary practices, pet shops, equine suppliers, agricultural merchants and country stores; the ProCPD programme forms part of Norbrook’s commitment to their continuous professional development. Qualified SQPs who haven’t registered for the new programme can do so through Norbrook Territory Managers in their area.
