Best of Utility – multipurpose tractors with more than 70hp; maximum four-cylinder engine; maximum operating weight 10,500kg and maximum wheelbase of 2,550mm

The John Deere 6120M is available in three specification levels, the Select, Select + and the Premium, allowing operators to choose between mechanical or electronic spool valves, the CommandArm armrest and various other options. It can also be equipped with various precision farming systems, including AutoTrac guidance, displayed through the cornerpost display and section control with up to 255 sections available.

Base specification starts with the John Deere PowrTech EWS engine; a four-cylinder, 4.5-litre power unit producing 120hp and boosting to 146hp maximum. It meets Stage V emissions regulations thanks to a combination of DOC, SCR, DEF and DPF systems and offers 562Nm of torque at 1,600rpm.

The candidate model is fitted with the AutoPowr stepless transmission has a minimum speed of 50m per hour, running through the range up to 40kph which can be reached at 1,470rpm. An electro-hydraulic park brake is included, with an emergency lever fitted into the cabin and the standard hydraulic trailer brakes can be upgraded to dual line pneumatic or hydraulic systems.

Hydraulic functions are powered by a pressure and flow compensated system with loading sensing, offering 114 litres per minute, with an independent hydrostatic steering pump with flow metering. It’s possible to fit up to four rear spool valves, with three mid-mounts. The rear linkage can lift up to 5,700kg, while the optional front linkage can carry up to 4,400kg.

Depending on the tyre fitment, ground clearance ranges from 364mm to 559mm, while the steering angle is 52 degrees, leading to a possible turning circle of 4.35m. The unladen weight is 6,000kg with a maximum operating weight of 10,450kg.

Looking at operator comfort, mechanical cab suspension is standard, complemented by the in-house Triple Link Suspension hydro-pneumatic system on the front axle. It’s possible to specify the driver’s seat with pneumatic suspension and the cabin comes with air conditioning and offers a noise level of just 70dB.

As previously noted, the full John Deere precision farming technology suite is available including ISOBUS functionality, variable rate and section control, guidance systems and the JDLink fleet management.
