Cheffins Vintage Sale to run over two days as it returns to its traditional format

An award-winning County 1164 which has been fully restored and will be offered in the Cheffins Cambridge Vintage Sale in April.

The Cheffins April Vintage Sale will be bigger and better than ever, according to the company, with the sale running over two days and all sections allowing both live and online bidding.

The sale will take place on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of April and will see hundreds of lots go under the hammer, including classic and vintage tractors, cars, motorbikes and collectors’ items.

The auction on Friday will include literature, models and steam spares, while Saturday’s lots will feature tractors, motorbikes, vehicles and tractor spares and implements.

Bill King, chairman, Cheffins, said: “Whilst the pandemic put a stop to live auctions for a period, we have decided that from April we will now return all sections of the sale back to offering both live and online bidding.

“We had a period of selling some sections of the sale solely online, however, as our Vintage Sales are a major part of the machinery calendar and are so well-attended by clients old and new, we thought it best to offer live bidding throughout all sections now that social distancing regulations have been relaxed. There is nothing quite like the atmosphere of a buzzing auction and we will be pleased to be able to offer this throughout all sections from April onwards.”

Cheffins’ online bidding platform has reportedly seen exponential growth with some auctions selling over half of its items online.

Mr King continued: “The timed online format has proved to be hugely successful and has allowed our auctions to continue almost unabated throughout the past 18 months. It offers a robust and secure basis for people to bid for items if they are unable to attend our sales and we will be continuing to offer this service as well as live auctions.

“We already have a number of fantastic lots consigned for the April sale and are looking forward to returning to our traditional format.”

The sale will take place at Cheffins Machinery Sale Ground in Ely. For more information go to www.cheffins.co.uk
