New Stocks applicator to launch at Agritechnica

Stocks Ag has developed its product range with a new applicator which can reportedly spread seed and granules wider, and at higher rates, than ever before.

The Maxi Jet will be showcased at Agritechnica and is designed to distribute material out to 15m with rates between 1kg per hectare and 200kg. The highest application rate is available when mounted on machines up to 6m, while more conventional rates can be spread out to the full working width.

To reach these new application levels, the company has introduced external distribution heads along the toolbar, reducing the amount of pipework and therefore improving the flow of air and material.

Two and four outlet metering units are available, with up to 32 spreader plates across the working width of the machine. Customers can also order bespoke distribution heads with up to 20 outlets each.

There are two models available, the Maxi Jet 2, for working widths up to 8m. This is fitted with twin electric fans as standard, with the option of a hydraulic unit, which is standard on the Maxi Jet 4 for machines up to 15m wide.

For even distribution across the working width, Stocks has fitted spiral risers within the supply hoses to create a swirl effect in the airstream to disperse material before it reaches the head.

As with the rest of the Stocks range, fluted feed rollers are used for metering, with new high-capacity rollers for large and small seeds. Notably, the system can handle difficult-flowing seeds at lower rates.

Rates are automatically controlled in proportion to the forward speed via the i-CON touchscreen monitor, or with the tractor’s ISOBUS screen, with the option of a variable rate.
