The new FW 580 flex ring roller from Amazone is available for its Cenio and Cenius mounted cultivators, as well as the Catros mounted compact disc harrow.
It features an open design with ring spacing of 200mm, with a narrow roller core. The rings have a diameter of 580mm and the company states that the unit can be used in a broad range of applications, on both sandy and loamy soils.
The spring action of the rings reportedly produces a lot of fine soil, while providing consolidation deeper within the soil profile. It also ensures reliable operation, even in damp or sticky soil conditions.
Due to the 140mm core diameter, it can also provide through-passage on lighter soils, while the arrangement of the rings offers self-driving.
As an option, a sprung cleaning system prevents the roller from sticking, while a harrow system can be fitted to ensure finer crumbling of the soil.
Finally, the low weight means that it can be lifted on the headland and for transport by lower horsepower tractors.
