Kverneland adds in-furrow models to the Ecomat plough range

The Ecomat shallow plough range from Kverneland has been extended with a series of smaller models designed for in-furrow operation. The new models are available in six, seven and eight-furrow builds, joining the existing eight and ten-furrow on-land models.

“Ecomat is a half-way house between a plough and a cultivator,” said Kverneland product specialist Adam Burt. “As a shallow plough, the Ecomat still turns soil over but without needing to work as deep as a traditional plough.

“We’re achieving 95% inversion at a depth of 9cm, with an implement that is easier to pull than a traditional plough, while doing a far better job of inversion than a cultivator.”

The in-furrow models are said to bring shallow ploughing down to lower-powered tractors. Working depths can be adjusted between 6cm and 18cm, with auto-reset leg protection offered as part of the standard specification.

For tougher ground conditions, a heavy-duty spring pack can also be fitted.

Plastic or steel bodies are available, with furrow widths from 25cm up to 45cm, adjusted hydraulically with the vari-width system. This provides working widths from 1.5m with the six-furrow model, up to a maximum of 3.6m with the largest machine.

All models can be completed with an integral Packomat press.
