Pöttinger extends folding power harrow range

Suitable for tractors up to 500hp, Pöttinger has introduced the new 6m Lion 6002 C folding power harrow which will be available from November 2021.

According to the company, special attention has been paid to the current and future requirements of customers in terms of durability and strength. A strong tine carrier and high-capacity gearbox ensure that high driveline torques are transmitted efficiently, these are combined with folding coulter rails.

The integration of the folding frame, bringing the unit down to a 3m transport width, has made the machine more compact and optimised weight distribution. The result is a short and compact power harrow that is up to 30cm shorter than other machines on the market. The centre of gravity has also been shifted closer to the rear axle for more positive weight distribution on the front axle.

A newly developed PTO system with a two-speed gearbox that enables a wide speed range, working at PTO speeds between 750rpm and 1,300rpm. This is said to ensure that the tractor is always working within its optimum performance range, enhancing reliability, while the gearbox housing provides the necessary cooling.

Rotor speeds vary between 320rpm and 420rpm for the best working results with reduced fuel consumption. Standard equipment also includes a cam-type clutch on each frame section to protect the machine against overloads up to 2,200Nm.

No tools are required to adjust the machine. At the side of the machine, operators simply remove a lynchpin and adjust the control rod to set the required working depth in intervals of 1cm. It’s also possible to specify hydraulic adjustment of the working depth and thanks to the parallel linkage, the levelling board is automatically shifted when the depth is changed.

With an uprated gearbox and design, the Lion 6002 C is suitable for tractors up to 500hp

The height of the levelling board is adjusted by the rear roller, independent of the working depth. It’s guided at a consistent, pre-defined distance above the soil without changing the distance from the tines or its pre-set height. This patented solution is said to deliver the most level and uniform tilth structure, even in varying conditions.

The Lion 6002 C is available with a wide range of rear rollers, including two tooth packer units, two prism rollers, both available in different diameters, and one packer. It can be combined with the Aerosem FDD seed drill, with easy attachment to the tractor for one-pass operation.
