Amazone launches new harrow mounted drill

The Cataya Special EcoLine from Amazone is said to be an attractively priced entry into the company’s seed drill combinations, replacing the previously offered AD harrow-mounted range.

It’s offered in a predetermined specification, with a 3m working width and 650-litre seed hopper feeding down to 24 RoTeC single disc coulters spaced at 12.5cm.

Depth control is ensured via the Control 10 depth guidance disc or the Control 25 roller, which also limits the amount of soil that can stick to the sowing disc. Also part of the standard specification is the Exact harrow, said to offer even seed coverage and blockage-free operation even where there are high levels of straw.

In the cabin, the AmaLog+ enables quick changeover of tramlines and monitors the total area covered, fill level and speed monitoring of the mechanical drive.

Calibration is done via the centralised SmartCenter at the left-hand side of the machine, with metering preselected using a handle which adjusts the bottom flap to different seed types and seeding rates.

The new Precis metering system enables quick changeover from large to fine seeds, and there are integrated outlet funnels to minimise residues. The seed shaft is driven mechanically via a land wheel.

Finally, the Cataya can be quickly coupled with a KE Rotamix, KX Cultimix or KG Cultimix without tools thanks to the QuickLink system.
