    Sky adds Avadex application

Showcased at Groundswell, Sky Agriculture has introduced a new mounting kit for its trailed EasyDrill, enabling operators to fit a Stocks Ag Turbo Jet 10 for the application of Avadex, as well as cover crops and clover and grass seeds.

The new mounting kit includes separate metering and an additional set of outlets behind the press wheel. For operator safety, it also includes a loading platform, steps and a guard rail.

At Groundswell, the Turbo Jet was colour matched to the 6m EasyDrill, with a 240-litre hopper and an Avadex feed block metering roll, feeding ten outlet spreader plates through 32mm piping. The kit can also be specified for 4m models, with eight outlets, or the 8m machine with 20 outlets and the option of a 400-litre hopper.

Application rates can be automatically controlled in proportion to the forward speed with the i-CON controller and when the Turbo Jet is not being used for Avadex, its ability to sow small seeds means that the Sky EasyDrill can now establish up to five different products, with variable rate application using GPS.

Stocks Ag aftersales director, Tim Farrow, commented: “With this new option available to market, we aim to meet the needs of Sky EasyDrill owners that are looking for an applicator that will precisely meter and accurately spread Avadex granules through a separate distribution circuit. The granules are applied directly to the seedbed behind the drill allowing for a consistent even spread pattern.

“The application accuracy of the Turbo Jet mounted on a Sky drill has been independently tested and exceeds NSTS requirements.”
