Claas introduces new swathing butterfly mower

Claas has extended its Disco Direct Swather range with the 10.7m 1100 machine, fitted with swath augers to control the placement of forage.

It joins the 9300 Direct Swather, which was introduced in 2024, and can be used in one of four ways to suit the operation:

    • Wide spreading for rapid wilting when dealing with high-yielding forage
    • Centre swathing
    • Combining 21m of crop into a single rake pass with half-width spreading
    • Mowing with one-sided swathing to clear field edges

The machine has no conditioner, meaning that tractors from 220hp can be used upfront. The augers are mounted close to the cutter bar, enabling constant crop intake, even when the yield may be uneven.

The conical design of the auger enables more crop to be carried closer to the centre of the machine, with shear bars and blades mounted at the auger outlet to avoid crop blockages.

An independent hydraulic drive is used to power the augers, enabling them to be swivelled out of work, and Isobus control enables either auger to be controlled separately from the other.

The working width can also be adjusted thanks to the telescopic arm mounting, enabling the cutting width to be stepless adjusted from 9.7m to 10.7m.

It’s offered in the Business specification, increasing the level of automation. Ground pressure and working width are controlled via the Isobus terminal – either a Claas unit for the tractor’s own display.

Overload protection is integrated into the individual mower lift, which is also programmable into the headland management system.
