    Muthing’s MU-Pro is well received

Simon Richard imports and distributes the Muthing range of Flail Mowers. This range claims to be one of the widest on offer from any one company, with a machine for most requirements. The Muthing Mulching range is manufactured in Germany.

Simon Richard, UK Agent for the Muthing Flail range, said “Efforts to control pests such as the European corn borer moth or the fusarium fungus have seen positive results when crop residues are intensively shredded and evenly distributed on the ground, immediately after harvest and before soil is subsequently cultivated. These measures improve both pasture structure and nutritional value results from soil cultivation, in terms of shallow material incorporation, blockage free sowing and uniform deposit depth, with correspondingly positive effects on yields and potential crop rotations”.

He added, “The Muthing MU-PRO/F Vario system for tractors up to 400 hp gives maximum mulching, allowing trouble free soil cultivation and sowing. Feeding and refuge habitats are taken away by shredding the crop residues.”

Scottish borders based farmers H & C J Usher took delivery of their Muthing Pro in 2001. Angus Beck said: “We have been really impressed with the MU Pro performance. With a heavy roller it clears spring cover crops like rapeseed, wheat stubble and linseed quickly and efficiently. With the Vario bar it sucks everything up to be ploughed back in. I would highly recommend it.”
