Cogent Breeding Ltd, an established authority in bovine genetics and the market leader in sexed semen technology, is celebrating after winning Cheshire Business Exporter of the Year at the High Sheriff’s Awards for Enterprise.

The awards, which recognise outstanding commercial success and sustainable growth within the export market, were held on Thursday 26th March at the Town Hall in Chester.

Cogent, which distributes to more than 40 countries across the globe, was nominated by the Chester Chamber of Commerce and successfully saw off the competition to claim the accolade for the first time.

The prestigious award was presented by Sue Sellers, High Sherriff of Chester at the event attended by more than 200 people. As part of the prize, Cogent will also receive a bespoke twelve month package of support from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) to help research and develop international markets.

Cogent’s Chief Executive, Andrew Turner said: “To have been awarded Cheshire Business Exporter of the Year, given the tough competition, is a real honour and a great recognition of how far Cogent has come since its establishment in 1995.

“Cogent is committed to providing a superior service to meet the specific needs of farmers across the world and I feel very proud of our ongoing team performance that has resulted in this well-deserved recognition.”
