Norbrook Laboratories launches convenient dual species product for internal and external parasites in cattle and sheep

Norbrook Laboratories aims to make life easier for farmers who need a single solution to treat liver fluke, worms and external parasites in both cattle and sheep with the launch of its latest dual species formulation, Closamectin Solution for Injection for Cattle and Sheep. It is the newest addition to the market leading Closamectin range from Norbrook.

Norbrook Veterinary Advisor, Dr. Barry McInerney said, “We are pleased to add to the Closamectin range with this convenient dual species solution. Its patented combination of Ivermectin and Closantel is the only product in Europe that gives broad spectrum efficacy against the majority of the economically important stages of internal and external parasites in cattle and sheep in a single solution.”

Closamectin Solution for Injection for Cattle and Sheep is an early-acting combination fluke, worm and external parasite treatment that offers proven efficacy against liver fluke from just seven weeks and kills susceptible fluke within 24-48 hours. Closantel is very effective against triclabendazole resistant liver fluke – an emerging problem throughout the UK and Ireland.

Closantel has a prolonged stunting effect on immature fluke for a number of weeks after treatment which not only reduces the size and therefore the effect of the fluke when they become adult, but also significantly reduces their egg laying capacity as adults.

Norbrook is a world leader in the veterinary and pharmaceutical industry; working closely with farmers and veterinarians to enhance animal health and productivity. Headquartered in the UK, Norbrook is the world’s largest privately owned pharmaceutical company with manufacturing and distribution facilities across all continents and five decades of experience.
