Kuhn Farm Machinery has introduced the Primor GII 110.1 Polydrive, designed to be a high-capacity machine suitable for low buildings.
It features an 11cu m, 5.5m long bed, capable of holding two 2.7m square bales with the tailgate closed, or up to four 2m round bales with the tailgate lowered. The 2.6m transport height extends to 2.9m during spreading to ensure complete coverage.
Rhodri Jenkins says the compact working height, coupled with high carrying capacity, will appeal to many farmers.
“Restricted height sheds are still essential infrastructure for many small and medium-sized livestock units, and machines that can easily move through these buildings, whilst improving carrying and output capacity, are essential to users. The new Primor offers a high area covered per load in low buildings.”
It uses the company’s Polydrive hydraulic-controlled feed rotor system, combining mechanical transmission control with the flexibility of hydraulic operation.
The large-diameter feed rotor also prevents long fibres from wrapping around it, while the hydraulic tine bank adjusts the rotor power depending on the operation.
The turbine can run between 310rpm to 620rpm, powered by a two-speed gearbox, while the Unroll System uses hydraulic clamps to secure waiting bales during operation, while the K-Nox treatment on the bottom of the turbine offers resistance to silage acids and abrasions.
