AGCO, the parent company of Massey Ferguson, Valtra and Fendt, has announced a new strategy at its Virtual Analyst Briefing.

Eric Hansotia, AGCO chairman, president and CEO, introduced new purpose and vision statements that, when combined, offered an insight into the role the company intends to play for farmers and the wider agricultural industry. These are to deliver ‘farmer-focused solutions to sustainably feed our world’ and to be the ‘trusted partner for industry-leading, smart farming solutions’.

AGCO intends to continue its differentiated brand portfolio to offer exceptional customer experiences, according to the strategy, which will reinforce brand promises and provide high-quality, smart farming solutions. This will focus on four environmental and social pillars to create further value: advancing soil health and soil-carbon sequestration, decarbonising operations and products, elevating employee health, safety and wellbeing, and prioritising animal welfare in food production.

Reinforcing this goal to help farmers increase net income, Seth Crawford, senior vice president, precision agricultural and digital, showcased the company’s approach, which included leveraging its Fuse precision technologies across the brand portfolio, growing the Precision Planting retrofit business, and optimising its collaboration with sales partners through the Digital Customer Experience to better server farmers.

Mr Hansotia summarised the farmer-first strategy: “Our strategy is custom built to place farmers at the centre of everything we do. Deeply understanding our customers’ needs and aligning our business to meet and exceed their expectations will deliver sustainable stakeholder value and help secure the global food supply for future generations.”
