Lamma saw the announcement that Bridgestone agricultural tyres will now be distributed in the UK through wholesaler Kirkby Tyres. The company will supply the full portfolio of products from both Bridgestone and Firestone, and will be able to provide next-day delivery to customers across the UK, a key reason for Bridgestone entering into the agreement.
Speaking at Lamma, Michael Rosenthal, managing director of Kirkby Tyres, explained: “Bridgestone is a premium agricultural brand, meaning that we can now offer our customers products at every price point, with quick delivery times to minimise downtime and an experienced team who can help customers at every step of the purchasing and aftersales process.”
He added that the addition of Bridgestone will boost the company’s sales to OEMs.
Conor Curran, manager at Bridgestone, added that Kirkby will provide a direct route to market for every product within the Bridgestone and Firestone ranges, including the VT-Tractor, the VX-Tractor, the latest VH-IND and the VX-R Tractor.
While this decision would put the Bridgestone, and, particularly, the Firestone ranges in direct competition with the rest of the Kirkby portfolio, including budget and mid-range tyres such as Sailun and BTK, Conor was confident that the quality of the brand and increased speed of delivery would ensure that the partnership would be beneficial to both companies.
